It's easy to forget in the day to day that I AM enough. Enough to get what I want, be what I want, do what I want. I, like everyone, get beat down by stress, money, society and not least of all, myself. I have struggled with self esteem for more than 2 and a half decades and it's sometimes debilitating. I have known for a while now that much of what stops me from succeeding is me.
Today while I was working out at home, I had an epiphany. It all started with this board I made a while back. On a particularly bad day I decided I would make one location that had all things that made me feel good, proud or accomplished. This includes pictures, sayings, certificates, etc. I was looking at that board today while lifting weights and realized, Holy Cow! I'm pretty awesome! I have:
Flown a plane
Jumped out of a plan with a member of Seal Team One
Run across fire and scaled walls (Rugged Maniac x2)
Run a 5k
Given birth to two beautiful girls
Started 3 companies
Traveled to other countries
Been a good friend
If I can do all that, I CAN get healthy and strong! Not only can I but I'm worth the effort. A couple of the sayings I have in my workout room are:
"Never put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket."
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
"The sooner you believe you are extraordinary, the sooner others will follow."
"Eat like you love yourself. Move like you love yourself. Speak like you love yourself. Act like you love yourself."
So I can do this and I will. I am enough.
