Now I Know

Wednesday, November 01, 2017

I have been experiencing vision problems for quite a while now. It happened quite suddenly and progressed quite quickly.

At my eye doctor’s appointment last month it was determined that the steroids I am taking for my autoimmune disease caused my cataracts to ripen very quickly. Like in two months quickly. Therefore, I need to have cataract surgery ASAP.

I saw the surgeon today. I have surgery scheduled on the right eye for next Tuesday. Of course, I will have to take it easy to allow the eye to heal. I cannot do any intentional exercise for 2 weeks after the surgery. I will also have to stay away from ‘close’ work with my eyes as well.

I elected to only have one eye done at a time and chose the one with the worst deterioration to be done first.

I know this will effect my weight loss journey. Not being able to exercise or participate fully will definitely be a setback. I accept it for what it is. What’s most important is knowing and with that knowledge I am moving forward to correct the situation.

I may be away from the board for a bit but know that I am rooting for each and every one of you to obtain your November goals.

Stay strong and keep moving forward.
