Sugar Control

Monday, November 13, 2017

Sugar control is the problem, I'm have none. I'm happy with my weight but my diabetes is worse. My stomach is in pain from diverticulitis. Common sense would have me severely restricting my sugar intake. I'm out of control and I'm not sure what to do about it. I wake up every day and all I eat is junk food for every meal. Lately all I have been eating is chocolate and drinking Pepsi.

I can so relate to your situations. It’s like one bite is too much and 1000 bites are never enough!! Currently I set boundaries with bright line in sugar, flour, meals and quantity. It’s called “ Bright Line Eating “ I stay as much bright as I can. I found this way of eating about a year ago. I did derailed one point but I always get back to it. So seems working for me. I no longer have aches and pain in my joints when I get up in the morning. My motto is one day at time. emoticon

I am a carb addict. Which means just one slip sets me off. I crave carbs sugar being just one of the carbs. But sugar is the worst. It makes me sick. I get very sluggish, can' think straight. I find I just have to say NO! It is not easy. But has to be that way. I fight it every day. You may be the same way. Make your mind up that you are not going to allow it to control your life. Say it every day and mean it. You can do it. One day at a time.

Well, I can see that you have the Diabetes Challenge in your list of teams - maybe deciding to start with Day 1 of that Challenge again would help you get back on track.
I don't know your circumstances, but getting 1:1 counselling (eg Linda Spangle for example) might also be help. Sounds like you've reached a bit of a crisis point.

All the resources are here, and I can see you've done it before - can you figure out what is holding you back now? It sounds like you've become overwhelmed.
