7 more days until the new year.

... And I could not stick to my intention to avoid sugars. So, since we will have family gatherings and dinners and such on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I decided to 'let go' and eat the foods everyone is eating. I do still want to try to hold on to a 'normal' eating pattern of 3 meals and 2 or 3 snacks though, so not graze all day long. And not eat absurd portions.

Then on Wednesday I hope I can go back to avoiding the sugar and just make a 'sugar free' (well, low in sugar) apple pie to celebrate on New Year's Eve.

Just sent you a message on this before I read it.

Unless we are willing to live a very insulated life, it is impossible to completely avoid exposure to sweets. All we can do is decide how much exposure we allow ourselves at home and how much-or little- we eat them when exposed out and about. How we conduct ourselves MOST of the time is what determines our overall satisfaction with our eating, and that can develop year over year. emoticon

Sounds sensible...enjoy, indulge a bit, and get back on plan once all the festivities die down.

A few days of eating like everyone else will not derail your long term progress,
if you get back on track on Wednesday.
    Merry Christmas!
