I haven't posted a blog in a while so I thought get a 15 day streak of 10,000 steps would be a great time to start again!



I have had several ups and downs lately, both in my life and in my weight. But I decided that I am going to make 2018 a good year. I didn't make any resolutions other than to focus on the good and let the rest go.

So I have been focusing on the treadmill, for now. I have set a goal to get 10,000 steps a day for 30 days straight. Today is day 15.

On work days in has been easy, but the weekends have been a real effort to get moving. I have to change my thinking. I have such a set routine going during the week, but somehow it doesn't translate to the weekends. Every work day I get up make coffee and get 10-15 minutes on the treadmill before getting DH up and getting off to work (after a shower of course). Then I am on the move at work all day. When I get home, I do my house work and get another 20 - 30 minutes on the treadmill before cooking dinner. Then a little TV and off to bed.

On the weekends, I stay up late and wake up late and down odds and ends before usually getting together with friends in the evenings. I never even think about the treadmill. I need to figure out how to figure out how to make the treadmill part of the routine on the weekend, if I am going to keep this streak up and hit 30 days.

The other thing I have been working on is my coffee addiction. I am trying to switch out one cup of coffee each day for herbal tea. Day 3 for that one. It is much harder for me. I love coffee. I always make sure to get my water, but I still drink coffee all day long. I think it a little much.

I think I will add blogging more to my growing list of things to do to make 2018 a good year.

    Great job on the streak. I think scheduling your morning treadmill on the weekends for a set time is a good approach.. why not do similar to weekday morning.. get your coffee, hit the treadmill then if you don't get 10K by 3:00, do another session?
    Or before you have to get ready to go out for the evening.
    Sometimes if you have screen time, do it while on the treadmill?

    Also, I love coffee too, but I use decaf in my brew, because I notice I crash after a regular cup.. so at about a 1/3 caff right now (1 scoop regular 2 scoops decaf in my french press in the morning, which makes me a large morning cup and a mid-day cup in a travel cup). Black or green tea instead of herbal are a good substitute in the afternoon if you are trying to change your beverage approach, but yes I like herbal tea too.

    15 emoticons for your 15 days! That's on my bucket list for some time in the early part of this year, once the weather breaks better consistently here.
    But currently I am getting hard-core cardio, though not as many steps, doing

    Get on the treadmill first thing in the morning on the weekends too.

    Another coffee lover here. But, I don't necessarily drink it every day and rarely all day.

    I meant weekdays, not weekend. Follow the routine in the morning.

    Do the same thing as you do on your weekend. Do the treadmill routine in the morning before you get distracted with the rest of the day.
