Changing what I do to get new results!

I'm not comfortable writing about myself, but either you are all in or just making believe. So, here goes, as rewuestd in the new member challenge. Even though, theoretically, I have been a member of Sparkspeople since 2012, I have not been actively involved. I kept checking back, periodically, but couldn't seem to make it stick. The last five years have included losses of several family members, care of aging parents, and a cancer diagnosis, surgery, chemo and radiation, (life is what happens while you're making other plans!) so there have been legitimate distractions. My goal at this point in my life is to create a life style that makes me healthy, happy, and in charge.

    You've had a lot on your plate but I'm glad you're back and making time for you. i lost my mom earlier this year and the one thing I didn't want to do was use her passing as an excuse for going off track. "Life" happens but it's how we react to it that decide whether it's a positive or negative thing in our life. Best wishes for a healthy, happy and 'in-charge', lifestyle.

    Good for you, and that is a great goal. I have been a member for years also and this past year starting In April it stuck. I stopped trying to lose weight, I started keeping track of my glucose readings. Funny when out with friends who chided me and said, "Oh have a taste, or why aren't you eating." they were very supportive when I said, "I'm watching my sugar." Everyone understand there are times when we have to take control of our lives.

    Sp is the way to do it. You have made a wise choice to use it.

    We find it amazing how great our results can be by following the suggestions of SP. Including the consumption of water. I know I have tried every diet plan there was for 35 years and it wasn't until I did SP and starting HONESTLY monitoring everything I put in my mouth, as well as drinking 100 OZ of water a day, that I got my results started.

    Even retired I lost 35 lbs in 2017 doing SP and the last 20 lbs will be off in 2018. It is encouraging to not walk past a window and not feel nauseous as what I saw.
    I have tried everything for 30 years and always yo-yo'd back and forth. 2017 was 30 lbs lost and it wouldn’t have happened without Sparkpeope and the Challenges. DO THE CHALLENGES.
    It all begins someplace and you just started there. Lets make 2018 the best year yet.
