I've had some emotional storms in the past days and got all tangled up in emotional overeating. I am afraid I will need to wean myself off of sugar / trigger foods all over again. emoticon

Not sure at this moment if I should just quit eating them, as I did before, or try to taper them off.

For me - when I had my 6 week lapse back into sugar over the holidays - it was easier to stop again cold turkey on January 1st. I tried cutting back and just that little bit of sugar here and there made me crave it more (I had tried cutting back right before new year's then ultimately had a major binge). I am almost at the one month mark now and yesterday I really REALLY wanted some candy at work - then said to myself, I know logically the candy will NOT help this situation - do I really want to undo all these days of not having junk sugar? Do I want to face those cravings again because one piece of candy is not going to be enough? Do I really want to have to post that "NO" in my daily blog about my goals? That actually kept me from giving in - I had a great big glass of ice water and after a few minutes the craving really subsided. For me, a little bit of sugar always leads to more...but you have to do what is best for you - you may succeed at tapering off better than I do.

Sorry you are going thru a rough time...good luck, you got this!

You have the power to make the right decision for yourself, but for me . . . . cold turkey. Not easy, but it just nips those sugar bugs in the bud. It's HARD!!

In the journey to wellness/weight success there are bound to be a few detours, flat tires
and roadways under construction. As long as we move toward our goals in a consistent manner then we'll win out.

Sorry to hear you have had a struggle for past few days but its passt now. I don't think completely removing items is a good thing for me!
Good luck, be kind to yourself. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I relate to this deeply. I've found it's easier to do what must be done if you can think of it as s positive change with positive reasons to help motivate and guide you! I hope you figure out what you're gonna do

Either way you choose is a step in the right direction. I did it cold turkey and so far okay. Even took an apple to bible study while everyone else had cake. You can do this. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
