Hmmm, went up a few pounds this week. Need to reset goals?

Saturday, January 27, 2018

So today marks my one month anniversary here on Sparkpeople. Yay !

I've really enjoyed using all of the tools and meeting people to help inspire me in this weight loss journey. This week, I went up a few pounds on my weigh-in, but I didn't think I had gotten off track...so now I'm wondering if I need to lower my daily calorie intake or something. Or maybe give it another week to see if it is a fluke? haha. I don't know, I'd love to hear your guys' take on it.

I did look at my fitness minutes and I didn't do as much cardio over the week as usual, so I'm going to make that a focus this week to see if I can improve my weekly results. I'm still down 3 lbs. for the month, and I knew I was taking it slow. But that seems reeeeeally slow. lol

Have a wonderful weekend everyone =)

One month -- whoot whoot! Congrats!

We all want the scale to go down -- I'm no different. When a stall happens to me, I try to reframe my thinking. What do you REALLY want? You probably want to be healthier, and losing weight is just one part of that. You probably want to make this a lifestyle change and not a diet. If you are making healthier choices and changing your lifestyle for the better, you are succeeding, and eventually the scale will catch up to you. I tell myself I'm just ahead of the scale, and rather than wait for it to catch up, I'm just going to keep on going.

That said, you might also want to look into adding strength training into your workouts or change up your routine. The body can adapt to a certain kind of exercise, so it might be time to shake it up.

    Good luck!
