I told myself I would do it, and I did

I have the duty in my role as an operations specialist at the bank to pay the taxes of our escrowed loans. Our largest county provides us a list of taxes for ALL properties and our IT guy parses out the ones we need and puts it on a list for me to compare to my list. The other counties I require the actual paper tax bill.
So, the list that IT put together was missing 21 loans and had 7 that were paid already or are paid by a different department. It took a day and a half to get both lists of 673 loans totaling $526,733.58 to match. But, I did it.
Last year, my first year with the responsibility, was a struggle. I didn’t have it done until 4/10/17 and even then, I needed a co-worker who had done it before to make it work. But this year, I was determined to do it on my own. I wasn’t going to let it beat me so yesterday I buckled down and got it done.
I cannot explain the relief and pride I feel having done it all on my own especially so early in the month. It’s a reminder that I can do anything I set my mind to if I stay determined and believe in myself.
