Never give up!

I've been gone from here for quite awhile. After my husband died I went through a very difficult time... Eventually gave up my home and moved in with my daughter and her husband. I'm still here. I've also gone back to work, as a care giver. The people I work for are Seventh Day Adventist's, vegan and food educators. They teach a monthly cooking class at the church. I sometimes go along to help out and in so doing have learned a lot about cooking and nutrition. If you have an opportunity to check it out, I'd highly recommend it. I know I'll never be vegan, but could easily become vegetarian if I weren't living in a household that serves meat everyday. My son-in-law does most of the cooking and I really don't have much input into the menu. My daughter believes meat is her best source of iron and he doesn't like the majority of vegetables. Still I've been working on portion size and trying to limit sugar and meat in my diet.
Recently at cooking class the did a segment on the "Potato Hack Diet" and since the kids are gone for 10 days, I'm giving it a try. It is suppose to cleanse your body and reset your internal systems, and taste buds. I sure hope it gives me the boost I need to lose some of the weight I'm packing around.
Previously on SparkPeople, I was able to quit gaining weight, but not very successful at losing... So here I am again hoping to give it another try. Wish me success!
