Day 44 of my Diabetes 60 day Challenge to lower my A1C

Monday, April 09, 2018

Last two weeks were very busy with the first week being Holy Week and having many Church commitments. Could not really stay with new food plan as had to eat out too much. Stayed as close as possible. Took my BS 4x daily and took meds as ordered. BS were higher this week than range. Stress does that to me and had a serious lack of sleep Holy Week. Last week had appointments out of town two days. Numbers were better. On Friday I got my Freestyle Libre Sensor system. I wear a small sensor on my upper arm that reads my whole body blood sugar 24/7 and reads out with the reader and meter.

BS Friday were were high 200 at 8:30pm when sensor started to read
Saturday, Fasting was 177, Pre-Lunch 97, Pre-Supper 134, Bedtime 123
Sunday, Fasting 114, Pre-Lunch 178, Pre-Supper 90, Bedtime 111
Today, Fasting 119

Average glucose for all time wearing the scanner 132. Reader records blood sugars every half hour and every time I take a reading.

I had two eggwhites, and oatmeal for breakfast. Also 16 ounces of Lipton Black Tea, Black.

I lost a pound last week and will weigh in on Wednesday for this week.

On track for lower A1C and better diabetes control. Also taking a 5 week course on Diabetes management and my husband is taking it with me. We go Thursdays from 11-1:30. The course is free and lunch is provided thanks to a state health grant.

I am proud of myself for taking my health under my control and fighting for what I want and need.

Stress does that to me to. It's the whole reason my once well controlled diabetes got out of control. Wish the huge stress of moving across many states, moms cancer spreading all over, and leaving my grandma in a nursing home was far too much. My fasting used to be 92. Now it's 151 still. Working on getting it back to 90 or less.

This week at my church, we have revival services. So I'm be busier than usual too.
