House and Friends

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

In my last update, I mentioned I was looking for a townhouse, and was going to move apartments to get out of a horrible one.

I started a short lease, since I was looking for a more permanent place and did not want to get stuck with an early move out fee or months of rent on top of a mortgage. Things have actually been going well.

At the new apartment, I got in the habit of walking regularly, mainly because of my dog. After I moved, I had the dog constantly, except while travelling for work. Since my last update, I have been to our Houston office 3 times, to Ohio, Illinois, Mississippi, and Baton Rouge for work. I am booked for the next month with services or training for customers. I have had maybe 1 or 2 weeks without something scheduled since my last update. I just have been busy at work.
The guy who became Manager, has trained me in a product only he knew so I am now the main AE person for that product. I also learned several new products, and am the only AE person for those products as well.

I am no longer walking regularly. In December, I bought a house. I am now a home-owner instead of a renter. I refinished the kitchen cabinets by myself, and painted the kitchen walls. I also ended up painting my laundry closet walls. Everything else, is the original paint that came with the house. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, small upstairs loft that I turned into a tiny office with a small back yard and tiny front yard. Since getting the house, I have done a lot of housework with preparing to move in, moving in, and getting unpacked. I still have a few things left, but not much. I have curtain rods to put up, periodic yard work to do, planters and pots ordered for some herb gardening (and fairy gardens later), put up wall decor, and moving my empty boxes from my garage to my tiny tiny attic. I am just now starting to breathe and enjoy my place. It has been none stop cleaning, organizing, and house work for months. I had a deadline for when to make my place presentable by, and that deadline has passed. It was Easter. Every year, my family gets together for Easter and this year I hosted for them to see my new house.
I am hoping to get my habits back to good habits, like walking regularly and actually cooking again!

In addition to the house, I finally feel like I have a life. I hangout regularly with the friend that got me into Dice Masters. For months we would go see a movie almost every weekend, or watch Tv or something. In December, one of his friends moved back to Texas and now the 3 of us play board games almost every weekend. We also have a Star Wars Edge of the Empire (rpg game similar to D&D) group that meet every month or 2 to play.

I have not gotten back into Wow. The friend that moved back to Texas plays Wow, and I might server transfer to his server. I am still debating my Wow schedule.

Oh, and my work office moved too. Our office lease was up, so we looked at new places and we recently moved offices. We have been at the new offices for almost 2 weeks now.

Hopefully, I will get back into a normal routine and will get back on here regularly. I just want to breathe and relax in my new house for a bit first.
