Anesthesia Effects-Getting Back to Normal-Thank you fellow Sparkers

Saturday, May 05, 2018

I finally feel like my body is getting over the effects of anesthesia form surgery two weeks ago. I know it may sound weird, but I felt like my body was functioning on a slow, low speed for the past 2 weeks post surgery. I am not a medical professional, so I do not know if this is a real effect, or if it was in my mind! However, I haven't even been using the rest room as frequently as I did pre-surgery! Two days post surgery, I had even gained 2 pounds even though I was hardly eating. I decided to do about 15 minutes of fitness walking every day, nothing too wild, to get all body systems going again. I feel like I am finally getting back to normal. Thankfully the surgery site seems to be healing fine too. I am so grateful for all the prayers, well wishes, and positive vibes that my fellow Sparkers have sent. Thank you all so much! emoticon

2 weeks is about spot-on. Anesthesia combined with the healing from the trauma of surgery puts your body on a slow-mo and easily tired state. You should be pulling out of it now.

I'm not sure about the newer forms of anesthesia but , the older stuff took 6-8 weeks to completely leave the system ! Prayerfully you will have a great recovery ! emoticon

I'm glad you are getting back to normal. The weight gain is just fluid retention, the body does that to help protect itself. Drink plenty of water and you will see an improvement.
