DNA and Mother's Day

Wasn't I a cutie pie? This photo is from what I jokingly tell my brothers were the "happy days," back when I was an only child! It's also more proof that I was never going to be called "Slim." When your DNA is programmed for round, round is what you will be!
My poor mother must have worried that I was taking after my father since he was already pretty bald by the time she met him! Fortunately, my hair grew out by the time I was two and she could stop dressing me in ultra girlie outfits so people would know I was a girl.
These are my parents. They are both gone now and with Mother's Day here, I miss them both all the more.
Mothers are the heart of the family. At least mine was. She was my best friend and I still miss talking to her everyday. But I know she would be supporting me in trying to lose weight. It's a battle she fought too. I know she'd cheer each pound lost and each minute spent in the gym. I know she wanted me to be the best and healthiest me that I could be.
Happy Mother's Day Mom! Love you always.
