It's Been a Crazy Day!

Saturday, May 12, 2018

My morning started with a visit to the doctor to check about my thumb which is giving me some problems. It wants to slip sideways at the top joint. I can push it back, but it won't stay. I thought it may be out of place, but the doctor says it just sprained and should be better in 2-3 week. I have to wear a splint on it now. Since I am right handed and it is my right thumb, it seems like it's going to be an interesting few weeks. I still have a lot of gardening to do to get my huge flower bed like I want it. That is going to be a lot of fun, since that is the way I injured my thumb to start with.
This afternoon we went out with friends for dinner. My husband wanted to drive his "new" l955 Chevy. We went to a new place for my husband and me. The food was wonderful, but the service was horrible. The waitress seemed to be on another planet. She forgot part of our orders. She dropped the tray with our food on the table behind us. She brought me the wrong dressing for my salad. When I asked for the right dressing, she got a cup for me then stood at another table talking while still holding my dressing. My salad and my friend's soup were not brought until the main course. His soup of course was cold. I could not believe it! My friend said she must be the bosses daughter and they couldn't fire her. Maybe? To top everything else off, we went to the car to leave, and the starter wouldn't work. We couldn't get in touch with a wrecker service that could come get us, so we called a friend. We got back home pulling the car on a trailer behind. All in all, I would say it was a very interesting evening. All we could do was laugh about it all. We still had a lot of fun just being out with friends. Good friends seem to just make life a lot easier when things aren't going the way we plan. This was one evening to look back on with humor.
