BLOG 88 ... Lose Weight For Yourself

Monday, May 14, 2018

ok, I lost 10# for my vacation to Bermuda! I had a great time and now I am home! Now what? A partner, friend, kids or love one may want you to lose weight. The only way you are going to lose weight and keep it off is if YOU want to lose the weight! The decision has to be for yourself. My health is now starting to aid in the decision to get the rest of my weight off! Walking around in 90 degrees weather shows you what an addition 20# might look like in the form of water retention! well, the good time is over time to get back on track! I missed all of you!

TEMMYCONKLIN is right when she says that many diets are difficult with time.
One of the things is deciding what suits you, then making a few healthy swaps, if necessary.
It can take time to establish good habits,But that can be the key to long-term success
Having some healthy choices in the pattern of a daily habit.
    Cheers Richard

Saw you joined Living Binge Free. Very nice to meet you! We're more focused on developing the kind of lifelong habits of living sanely WITH food and just plain not bingeingt than we are on losing weight, though that's important, too. But people can lose weight and still be rather insane about food. We don't push for calorie limits or eliminating this or that or even weighing. We support each other to do what it takes to say NO to the binge urges! We just keep at it until the binges get weaker and farther and farther in between. That's how people typically get over them, not in a fell swoop, though we can learn from people who have done that.

Come check out the 21 day streak or the Life Between Meals (LBM) threads. We're a little less active than we used to be, so there's plenty of room for new hands to take up the torch.

You're so right - you have to do this for yourself. Losing for someone else, or for a wedding or vacation or some event, is a temporary fix. That kind of weight loss almost always returns (plus some). You have to do it because you want it and are ready to do what it takes to achieve it.
    Glad your vacation was good!

I'm with you. At my age carrying around extra weight is a health risk. I want to no longer be obese. I hope I stop losing height at it gets harder and harder to achieve that. LOL.

Indeed it's true. Everyone should think that only "I can help myself". In fact I've wrote this line on a piece of paper and stick it to my vision board. One thing you could try is looking your body daily in front of the mirror naked and asking the question if I'm happy with what I see? And the answer to that question will keep you motivated.

I'm trying to lose weight after my pregnancy and It's hard to stay motivated. Because there's so many diets out there and all are very difficult to follow. I lost a few pounds but gave up mid way because it was too strict to follow. I’m now trying a red tea diet which is far more easier to follow and I’ve lost 10 pounds last month. I also don’t feel bloated anymore and it suppresses my hunger for longer time too. Plus it tastes delicious! here’s an article on the red tea diet that I’m using if anyone’s interested:
