Join a challenge with friends!

Monday, May 28, 2018

As many of you know, I stop at members pages inviting them to join the Biggest Loser Challenge and on occasion the 5% challenge. Why do I spend the time searching for new members. It is because I believe in these challenges. The people I meet through the challenges have stopped me from quitting several times. I bet that they don’t even always know how much their support and encouragement has kept me going. This year was a tough one with multiple losses of family and friends. The members of the Biggest Loser Challenge and the 5% challenge were the reason I did not give up. I basically ended the year with the same weight I started. If I didn’t have their support I would have gained as I sure wanted to stuff my face. I have to admit I still need to work on my emotional eating. Then again, I am probably not alone.

I am a great believer that to encourage others improves personal self worth.

What are some of the benefits of joining these challenges.

Friendship ~ I have had the privilege of not only being on the Scarlet Dragons team and The Spirited Under Dwags, but I have spent time on several other teams. Each unique in there membership, but the compassion, caring and support was prevalent in all the teams.

Focus ~ The weekly challenges help me focus on goals.

Accountability ~ having to post my weight and stats remind me that I am not only accountable to myself, but what I do affects the team. It is easier to not try hard when you are doing it for you, but as a team player I will do my best not to let others down.

Support ~. It is amazing how my virtual teammates have reached out when I don’t seem to be my usual self. Sometimes they even notice the difference before the friends and families at home. They keep me strong, even when I feel week.

Fun ~. The people I have met through the teams on the challenges make me laugh and we all know that laughter is the best medicine.

The Biggest Loser teams are filling up for the summer challenge, but it is not too late to get on a team. If interested visit my page, click on the blue Biggest Loser Icon, join the team and add your name to the waitlist.

The 5% Summer Challenge has just started up their Summer team and you can get into the challenge by clicking the link below, join the team, then check over the teams and add your name to the team of your choice. Why don’t you give it a try, the challenge focuses on healthy habits. Here is the link to the team.
