Another Two Pounds = Another $10 in My Jar

Monday, August 20, 2018

These have kept running through my mind as I am on this journey again. The yo-yo syndrome that is now done and will stay done.

I got on the scales this morning to discover another two pounds lost to history in my "Pounds are History" jar beside my bed. It also equals another $10 at $5/lb. I have $50 in there now!
70 lb. to go! I am working on 5 lb. increments, or mini-goals, to keep myself motivated.

I am also reminded I promised myself back last September after my honeymoon that I would not be so big for this year's vacation! This is us in Havana, Cuba in Sept. last year on our honeymoon.

Hubby has always wanted to take me to Dominican Republic since we got together seven years ago. We are going next month for a week.
I plan to be down 5-10 pounds by Sept. 18th when we leave. It's a doable goal.

I am tracking my food which is absolutely essential! Even though it's a pain in the butt, it's a necessity of life and will be from now on.

I am still recuperating from a long bout of bronchitis (in my fourth week despite puffer and I do not smoke) so exercising is out of the question. Any long conversation or walking sends me into a coughing fit.

My cousin who lives almost 3 hours away wants to meet for lunch on Friday at a favourite restaurant of ours at a halfway point. I love their lasagna and only eat half. The other half is lunch next day. Hubby doesn't like pasta except Kraft Dinner (only the original with ZERO nutrients) so no point in making it just for me unless his kids come home. My son is vegan and my daughter never liked it.

I am finding looking at this jar beside my bed is motivating me a lot to keep going with my loss. If I gain, I have to take out the appropriate amount of money, such as the week I had to take $10 out when I had a water gain. I am being honest with myself in this!
I am also reading motivational stuff to keep going. I have to constantly think about it, or it will be tossed to the wayside again. Not a good thing.

I am getting older, and want to finish off the last portion of my life healthier than the first part!
