Why I can do this at 62... My story

Monday, September 03, 2018

I've been a member of SP since 2006.. I would get motivated and do everything right lose a little weight but I would soon lose interest. Then in 2009 I started having symptoms but didn't go have it checked out. I was diagnosed with diabetes after some other nasty health issues reared up. I never received a good education about diabetes from any doctor and my own research basically told me what I didn't want to hear. I started taking Metformin and all seemed well so I never changed my eating habits and even quit checking my blood sugar until this year. My husband passed last year and I was in a deep fog then in July my Doctor said my A1c was up to high and I knew I having trouble staying awake and felt awful so I started checking my blood sugars and found they were way way to high over 500. I should have been in a coma. Ok, now I'm also on Trulisity. I made the decision then that I needed help so I came right back to SP and based on my research choose my calorie and carb intake. I have been staying on my plan without cheating or binging.. If I really want something I figure out how to work it into my plan. It's all about portion control and ways to work how you put something together. I always try to find how and what veggies to put on my plate to help fill me up. I track my food and exercise everyday. Today I'm comfortable with my plan. I actually get excited to plan my menu and my exercise each day. I lost 10 lbs. my first month and I haven't weighed this month but I know I'm on track because I've stayed on track. This is why I know this will work this time. Thanks to SP which motivates me, the articles and Coach Nicole's exercise routines. You can do it..I can at 62....
