2018 Fall 5% Challenge Community Assignment 1 -- Exercise Plan
Wednesday, September 12, 2018
Since I joined the 2018 Fall 5% Challenge Community team, I decided to go in with full commitment, so will be completing my "assignments" in the blog area of my Sparkpage (which I have changed from private to public at least for the duration of this Challenge).
Assignment #1 -- Create an Exercise Plan
My plan is to include a number of different Exercises which I will be tracking in a spreadsheet attached to my refrigerator. I have a LOT of exercise DVDS, so will be making full use of them.
My WEEKLY plan will include:
**At least 4 sessions of "Sit and Be Fit" -- a person wouldn't lose weight by just doing these, but I love the fact that the instructor includes a combination of stretching, strength training, joint "workouts" and exercises that also exercise you neurologically (and she tells you what neural system they are stimulating). So, overall health is the point of these sessions.
**At least 4 sessions of "Classical Stretch" -- now these ARE designed to lose weight as well as build strength, so the name is a bit of a misnomer. It is a very active stretching program. The instructor does include at various points throughout a season some "pain relief" episodes which are a bit less vigorous than the others. If you just watch the various episodes, they are very deceiving as they "look" very easy, but indeed, most people will find them challenging when they actually do them.
**At least 2-3 walks per week (more if weather is nice)
**At least 2 Yoga sessions
**At least 2 strength training sessions with weights (may be at home or in gym).
I'm stopping here, but will update as I go through the Challenge.
