Sabotage!

Wednesday, September 26, 2018

We have all experienced sabotage when others ridicule, belittle or question our weight loss efforts.

Recently I experienced sabotage for what some might think of as a compliment. I was told "You look great". "You don't need to lose any more weight". "If you stay right where you are you are perfect". "Losing 30 more pounds will make you look wan, old, and sickly".

Do any of these sound familiar to you? Even when I mentioned that my doctor agreed with my final weight goal, these folks poo pooed this and said my doctor wasn't taking my age into account (like my doctor doesn't know my age). So now I was not only sabotaged but smacked down for my age. Gee, I can't understand why this didn't make me feel good. emoticon

But I guess I should thank them because it made me angry and even more determined to stick to my guns. emoticon

I hope all your saboteurs unexpectedly help you too, but more importantly I hope you can see it when it's aimed at you and use your super powers to deflect the effect. emoticon

Yep, I have experienced this too, well meaning people telling me "not to get too skinny" even after my doctor has given me a clear number on the scale she wants me to shoot for so that I am no longer in the overweight category.

I actually think it is not meant with malicious spirit. It's just NOT what we need right now. We need all of the positive support we can get.

You are making the right choices. Don't let the "naysayers" bring you down.

    1. Turn the negative into a positive .. Instead of I can't do this, say emoticon The positive thinking will help you with your thought process and you will look at things positively.

Take care of yourself and you will achieve your goals.

It all begins someplace and you just started there. Sp is the way to do it.

We want to remember it took us a few years to put our weight on and it comes off a little at a time, just like it went on. People get frustrated with it not coming off faster than we put it on. But with consistent focus on doing what we are told on SP we will hit our objective. Like many things it just wont get there overnight.

Make sure you make one of your most focused goals you water intake. Myself, when I hit plateaus its because I am not doing the water correct. I found using a reminder on my phone to be very helpful in making sure I keep on track with the water
