I, like so many of us, weigh once or twice a week and we may gain and lose and sometimes feel we are gaining and losing the same few pounds. This past month especially I lost then gained. So on the first of every month I weigh myself and take measurements. Taking measurements are a good idea also to see progress. I have a Daily Word for Weight loss that gives encouragement, spiritual guidance and place to journal which works out once a week to write how your progressing. I use note pads and tape to that page so I can keep more time.
Well today, when I weighed myself the first this morning, (my once a month weigh in that I write down for my journal) I lost 1.4 lbs from last month and 13.5 lbs since Jan 1 2018. That has encouraged me because weighing for our team challenges each week I don't always notice the difference and sometimes it is a gain. So keep a journal or just keep track of your weight, even if you weigh once a week or every day, just track monthly or even bi weekly and you will see the difference, and you will feel like you are accomplishing your goals.
Just don't ever give up.
What a great idea! I had been thinking about starting to be more faithful in a journal and you've convinced me how helpful it will be in my weight area - I wasn't even thinking on that!! Thanks for all the encouragement you give to all us Geckos. 588 days ago
Thanks for the reminder. I've been gaining and losing the same 5 pounds all year, but when I accidentally packed my tight jeans for a weekend trip I discovered they fit comfortably. Today is a work holiday for Thanksgiving so it's a good time to do my measurements. My blank journals are also in a box labelled "Karen's Bedroom" that has been packed since early February - now you've also given me the gentle nudge to unpack it and take that off my "to do" list. 600 days ago
that's really wonderful progress - so tickled4u! I once read a doctor recommend to lose 1 lb a month - that people are more likely to keep it off when lost slowly, through small lifestyle changes... I have lost the link, I think it was public tv special with a Dr Blackburn at some clinic East coast. It was an ah ha moment for me. Honestly at that point in time, I was not ready for a slower approach but now feel it is a better, more sustainable approach for me now. I also am encouraged to see your progress... Simply Sparktacular - very happy for you :) 607 days ago
