A Little Bit Of Backsliding
Monday, October 01, 2018
I slid back a little bit, but I’m trying not to freak out over 4lbs. Yes, I would’ve rather lost those 4lbs, but it isn’t the end of the world and before I know it they’ll be gone again (hopefully for good this time).
I had a good time at the Multicultural Event over the weekend. I tried foods from Nigeria, Vietnam and Philippines. Sadly, the German booth wasn’t there this year. I just didn’t have enough room to try the food from India. I skipped the “Dessert Booth”...they might have had “real food”, too, but my eyes kept getting caught on the goodies and I opted to hurry passed lest I become too tempted.
I also had the opportunity to try Jerk Chicken...and I regret not trying it sooner! It was fabulous! So full of flavour!
Hubby and I stopped at the Ukrainian booth (sadly not a food stall) and I nearly came home with another cookbook, but decided to wait until closer to Christmas (there’s a Ukrainian store in one of the malls that sells a ton of neat stuff including cookbooks). But hubby and I indulged in buying some imported candies...chocolate, to be specific. I’d probably enjoy them more if my teeth weren’t still bothering me, i I figure I could just nibble on one once in a while and still get to enjoy the treat without my teeth screaming bloody murder at me.
And except for an “Italian Soda” I steered clear of soft drinks entirely, opting for water instead. (I love those water enhancers! They make yucky boring water taste good without all the sugar of “fruit beverages”.)
Tomorrow is a 2 hour road trip ‘cause I have an appointment for an MRI (I’m not looking forward to having to fast most of the day...) and, with any luck, after I’m done with the appointment hubby and I will be able to treat ourselves by eating at our favourite Japanese restaurant. We haven’t been there in almost 2 years...we really need to get out more.
