Some Good News...I Think?

Thursday, October 04, 2018

Had my appointment with the dentist yesterday. Bad news first. My teeth are definitely in bad shape, maybe even worse that I first thought. The good news is that the dentist thinks he can save my teeth. I’m really bummed about the state my teeth are in. I used to have nice teeth, I took care of them (though I wasn’t as diligent with the floss as I could’ve been) and except for the occasional cavity (far and few between) I had no real problems. Now? All I can say is wow, this kinda sucks! Still, I’m ahead of my brother who has no teeth. Silly guy, he knocked a couple out in an accident with a wrench and stubborn bolt and decided that instead of addressing the two missing teeth he chose to have the rest extracted. I’m still trying to wrap my head around that particular brand of logic. My sister still has all of her teeth (including her Wisdom Teeth, I think) which, at her age, is pretty darn amazing. I have quite a few appointments ahead of me to try to get things back on track. All I can say is thank goodness for hubby’s workplace benefits! Even if it’s only partial coverage, it’s still better than nothing! On a different topic, I think Winter might actually be here to stay. It was -11C (12F) this morning. I’m not ready for Winter! Unfortunately, I don’t think I have much choice in the matter. Hubby figures we need to change how we view the Seasons...he says instead of four Seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn) we only have two: Winter and Spring. I kinda agree...except that when confronted by this weirdly unseasonable cold it’s really easy to forget the couple weeks of blistering heat over the summer where we were praising the fellow who invented air conditioning. My thoughts run more along the lines of disputing the existence of so-called “Global Warming”. I’m more inclined to calling it “Climate Change”. Oh well. If Winter is here to stay, I had best dig out my mittens, scarf and toque. No point in tempting Fate; I really don’t want to get sick.
