Jimaca Opinion (following up on yesterday's blog)

To answer some of the questions that responders asked me on yesterday's blog, I bought the jimaca out of curiosity and the fact that it was only a dollar. It was twice the size of a baseball and looked like a potato.

Harder to peel and cut than I anticipated, I carved out a pieceimmediately to appease my curious mind. Okay, let's see. I think it would be an acquired taste. Not terrible or even bad, just different.

The consistency is like a potato, and the sweetness is kinda like a pear, but not quite. I put some in my salad and saved some for a snack. I also wondered if it has any nutritional value and here's what I found...

Bottom line, I wouldn't go out of my way to look for it and buy it again. Have a happy, healthy day.
