Neighbor's Passing, Doc Appt., Silly Birthday Again
Thursday, January 17, 2019
Thanks to all who wished my neighbor well yesterday. I received a message from her husband that she had passed that morning that I witnessed the ambulance pulling away. There is usually no reason police cars are there, so that's how I guessed. He cried during the message and thanked me for the card. I didn't expect a call during his time of grief. They are such wonderful people. The good thing is that he has a son and grandson who live with him, so he's not alone.
I appreciate your compliments, but I don't fish for them. I tell you things because they are added stress and sadness on top of things going on in my life. For example, today's doc appointment. Accompanying a relative later this morning, each year there is something new and every single thing can be corrected with proper diet. It's a reminder to me why I'm here on SP and continue to strive for good health. It's the most important thing of all, the foundation on which everything else is built.
Once again, I share my silly birthday story. My dear cousin (like a sister to me) passed eight years ago. Shortly before she departed, she teased me about my birthday. At first, I celebrated all week long. It's the first week of Feb. Then, I progressed to the entire month. And finally, she said, "It's January, isn't it time to start celebrating your birthday?" So, yes, I now start mid-January.
Yesterday I bought two birthday balloons. I was born on my dear grandmother's birthday, so I bought one for me and one for her. They will last until the end of Feb because they have hearty air inside and are long-lasting. Each time I see them, I smile.
Wishing all a happy, healthy day.
