It's not easy

Thursday, January 31, 2019

Everyone is trying to lose weight. Some a little, some a lot and some just want to maintain what they already have done with losing.

Some look forward to being the biggest loser, some want to fit into some older clothes that they have grown out of.

Either way ITS NOT EASY. Unless you have walked in their shoes, unless you have watched every morsel that you have put in your mouth and counted every calorie, day- in and day- out, you have no idea why it is so hard.

Even plateau's are somewhat not understandable. You take each day and hope that the scale will give you a lower number and low and behold, you get on and you can't believe with all of your watching what you eat and exercising at least 3 times a week, that that scale must be broken.

Then you want to forget it. Why put in all that work for nothing?

Persistence will pay off. Please stay, and keep what you are doing.

Why! Because nothing that is easy is gratifying. You can do it.

I agree and for me the most difficult is starting over knowing the work that lies ahead. It will always be worth it and the reason I've been on this journey for decades but it does take it's toll mentally, emotionally as well as spiritually and physically.. but I'll never give up. Wonderful blog, thank you.

I found that, sometimes, when I started a new exercise challenge (for instance) that the weight didn't seem to be affected till after the challenge month (not at all DURING the challenge.) It was discouraging, until I saw some kind of results. emoticon

I see you joined the No S Diet team. Welcome! Our team is very small these days, but two of us have been living with No S for many years combined.

I myself feel I must have even more important reasons than weight loss in order to live a moderate eating life. I must feel that it must make me feel better than a life of eating more. Do you enjoy the eating you do that keeps weight on? I mean this very sincerely. It is not a crime! But it is something to be faced. If we think the scale or our appearance is the only payoff, then there will be many more moments of suffering, because there are only so many moments of the day when those are the focus. But feeling in control of food, as well as more vital and light, can be felt much more often. If we feel our plan is fair (incorporates real life and at least some food that we treasure), we can hold our head high every time we stick to it even when the scale doesn't give a reading we like.
