The big question: What happens when motivation fails?

Friday, February 01, 2019

One of the big reasons I'm try to start out super slow is that motivation is a very difficult thing for me. I'm constantly fighting being tired and getting simple tasks done each day takes a lot out of me. Food is the hardest part. I have trouble spending more then 5 minutes on food. Sometimes I won't even bother with something because it takes 3 minutes in the microwave and I don't want to wait. It's not that i need/want the food right this instant, it's just....I don't even know what it is.

The lack of motivation around food leads to a lot of delivery foods, fast food on my way home from somewhere, or eating things like cereal for every meal because it's simple. I eat a lot of cereal and sandwiches.

Going forward, I would like to start replacing foods that I regularly grab with healthier options. If there is something already prepared or super easy I'm more likely to grab it. That could be trail mix instead of chips, or vegetables instead of cookies.

In the past I've delved head first into meal prep. I prep meals, i eat meals, then 2-3 weeks later i miss a trip to the grocery store or I get too stressed with work and meal prep day just disappears. I need to find an alternative. So my hope is one food at a time.

Sounds like a good plan--one food at a time and slowly the healthy options will come alot easier to have on hand or to make in advance. You have the right idea--one step at a time and you'll succeed!

The more you can make yourself prep your meals, the healthier it will be. Also, the better you will feel. Good luck!
