Beck Trek 2019 - Day 3 Eat Sitting Down

When I started my first beck trek and was learning the habit of "eat sitting down," I might grab a handful of chips or something out of DH's candy dish then dash to the dining room table to sit down and eat it. Did that make me more aware of my eating? Sure did! And that's the purpose on Day 3.

Since then I have added a bit to this habit - not only do I eat sitting down, I also use a plate or bowl. The adds a second layer of intentionalyity -- put it in a dish AND sit down. It also helps me judge the portion size (so that even if I'm eating something I shouldn't, I can accurately record it).

I have come to realize that I needed to add one more specific point - eat SITTING down, not LYING down. Eating while lying on the couch reading (there goes a whole bowl of popcorn) is just as dangerous as eating standing up for me.

When I ignore these little habits, things go wrong.
