WINTER ADVENTURE 2019
Sunday, March 10, 2019
I bought snowshoes at a garage sale last summer (only $20 with the tags still on). It seemed to take forever for us to get enough snow to use them. My folks have a recreational trail behind them so I've been parking at their place, walking their dog then walking to the trails to snowshoe. I always have them in my car in case I find a fun place to go out. I visited a friend in Hamilton yesterday and it dawned on me that the shores of Lake Ontario are always beautiful in the winter. I finally got to make use of the metal cleats on my snowshoes on the hard-packed snow dunes on the beach. By the time I got to the beach the weather had changed from blue skies to very windy and gloomy but it made me feel like an artic explorer.
We're having rain and positive temperatures this week so that may be my last time for this year.
It should only be 10 weeks until kayak season! (I don't do that on Lake Ontario - a bit too advanced for me).
