New digital scale - the good / the bad / the ugly
Saturday, March 16, 2019
I've been using an old school scale for years which was fine but I wanted something more accurate and one that would sync with my Fitbit. I didn't want to spend as much as they wanted for one of the Fitbit brand digital scales so I shopped around on Amazon and found something comparable for much less. The set up took a while and getting it to sync with my phone but once I figured it out it's been really easy to use.
Now the bad...
My first weigh in on the new scale was about 7 lbs heavier than our old scale.
So...I had to restart from my "new" weight. That felt like a set back but really I'm still losing the weight so in the end it's fine.
The fact that when I started this journey, for the umpteenth time, I was back over 200 lbs - but the reality is I was higher than I thought, I just didn't have an accurate scale to show me how bad I really was. (Sigh)
I know the scale is not the only sign of progress and I don't mean to put too much emphasis on it, but it is a motivator for me so I'm going with it for now. I am noticing a difference in the way my clothes fit so that's encouraging too.
