40 Pounds Down

I lost a Canoe! This meme made me laugh.
So happy to be at the 40-pound mark after 8 months and excited to keep going. I was very strong for the first few months and then I switched plans to a much more strict way of eating and that derailed me for the next few months. So now I'm back to what worked in the beginning and really enjoying it.
Here's what I've learned about myself so far:
1) My body and spirit respond better to moderation rather than any severe restrictions on food. So I track my food every day to stay within my ranges and don't have any "forbidden" foods. I try to make the best food choices eating what I actually enjoy.
2) Exercise is key for me. I've been walking the whole time, starting at about 30 minutes a day and right now I'm doing about 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night. Also, I do some strength training with hand weights and leg exercises. I need to do more of that.
3) Vitamins make me feel better and influence my mood.
4) Being healthier is starting to affect all aspects of my life. I'm starting to see areas where I've accepted less than what I deserve.
I'm only half way there so I'm still learning as I go.
Good luck to everyone!
