Edging downward

I’m taking good care of myself, eating responsibly and exercising vigorously (thank you, Total Knee Replacement). I named my scale after a former boss who took pleasure in telling little untruths, just to see if he would be believed, so I check in with the scale judiciously and only when I have reason to believe that enough measurable change has occurred that “he” can’t lie to me. That said, my fitness is coming right along and I am rejoicing today to no longer be “obese”. Slow but steady wins this race. Today I weigh less than I have in the past 3.5 years and I look forward to another day of honoring my body. That’s the same body I have scolded and fretted about my whole life, but which I now praise for having served me faithfully and healthily, even when I disrespected it. Moving forward!
