Today, First Diabetic Management Consult

Today 6.24.2019 I am going to see my doctor for my first Diabetic Management consult... For quite some time now I was told I was close to being diabetic... But when I went for my physical in late 2.2019 I was told I was more than close... I asked to be able to see if I could turn things around..."Yes", I was told "It's never too late...!" Will post after I get home...! ! !

    I hope you are doing well. In spite of not eating well and not exercising I had great numbers at my last check up in April. Then I decided it was time to get back to managing my health better. I currently take 2 pills and Insulin. I have reduced my insulin from 80 2 shot to 22 units 1 shot. I was having so many low sugars I have to go to doctor on Monday. I lost 23 pounds since my visit in April. I have be inching to last shot down all week. So I hope to completely dump it soon. then I will no longer be and insulin dependent diabetic.i lost 40 pounds all together. I exercise over 100 minutes a day. I have an active work shift. I simply follow the Spark diabetic plan eating 3 small meals and 2-3 small snack. I am not perfect on the macros but I am pretty close. It will be interesting to see what happens Monday at the doctor. Kinda weird being called to the office for being too good.

    Perhaps you would consider sharing the guidelines you are given. It would be helpful for those of us who don't have access to these services and resources.

    I hope this is the impetus for making changes that may have seemed too hard before. Losing limbs or eyesight or possibly having a stroke can’t be easier tha giving up (or greatly reducing) the worst offenders. Courage!

    I also am diabetic, high blood pressure and cholesterol. It’s not always easy, but truly worth the time and effort to get numbers back in a good, healthy range.
