Even the migraine can't beat me

Alaska has been suffering from some pretty severe fires. Where I live I am wedged between three of the worst ones. Normally I have a spectacular view of the Chugach mountains. Unfortunately the smoke is to thick now to see them anymore. On top of that the heat has been pretty high, perfect recipe for a migraine attack.

I didn't sleep last night, haven't slept much today either. Needless to say my activity level has been at a zero. I've walked maybe 3k steps today. In the past I have tried to exercise my way through the migraine... Do not do it people lol it makes it so much worse.

The good that comes from being home sick today is that I had to time to sit and reflect on my goals. What I have achieved already has been absolutely magnificent , but I still have a ways to go. I need to amp up my routine, well actually, it needs a makeover. I have also been stuck in a bit of a food rut and have found myself starting to crave the bad stuff, and I haven't had any craving in ages...

Pen and paper in hand I went to work. Researching and jotting down new ideas for meal planning, new exercises I can master from home, and even delved into some yoga/meditation . I have always been curious about meditation , but haven't taken the leap.

My three "little things":

1. I have read PS, I love you but hadn't watched the movie until today.
2. The amount of resources available online for new and creative meals is incredible.
3. I have an awesome amount of love from my spark friends today. I feel so blessed!

    Praying for your migraines. I had have one that started yesterday due to walking too much in the heat. I dislike that my body is so sensitive to heat, but it could be worse. Finally I am beginning to feel better more than 24 hours later.

    All of the "heat" and the fires may be contributing to your migraines. There are some great exercise videos on SP that you can do inside. I also like Jessica Smith's videos which you can get on YouTube. Keep on hydrating and get some rest!

    Hope you feel better soon and that you get a break from the smoke. We endured that here in the SF Bay Area last Fall during the Paradise Camp fire here in California. It makes you really appreciate clean air after a good rain. Meditation is a great way to improve one's health and mind. Get plenty of water and lots of rest, friend. Keep on Sparking! emoticon
