I started intermittent fasting last week and it has been amazing! Without changing my calorie counts or macros for the day, I have doubled my weightloss. I am down 4.6# in one week.

I started with a 16:8 which is 16 hours fast followed by an 8 hr feeding period. That is quite easy when you figure that sleeping 6-8 hours takes up half the time! I never eat after 6pm and usually after 4pm, so my feeding time was 8-4pm. I moved to an 18:6 quickly.

Then I went OMAD which is One Meal A Day. I didn't have too much trouble going the 23-24 hours. I got hungry, but contrary to common belief, you don't have to eat just because you are hungry. Then during my 1 hr feeding period, I ate my normal low carb meal or even a higher calorie one than usual because I was so hungry. I still lost an incredible amount of weight for someone close to goal.

Yesterday when my feeding window came up, mom called me in crisis with dad, who has Lewy Body Dementia and was angry because she wouldn't give him the keys to his Jeep. By the time I got things calmed down and got home, it was 6pm and I NEVER eat after 6 because it is too close to bed time and I won't sleep well.

Anyway, I am at 42 hours of fasting right now. I am taking dad out today so will probably get my meal and break my fast at about 44-45 hours. I feel great! No strong hunger and no weakness,

If you are stalled with weightloss, I encourage you to read up on intermittent fasting. Start small and add an hour on to your sleep time every few days. It can be before or after sleep whichever works best for you.
