Bad News, Good News

The bad news is that I have just been off the rails for months now, with many attempts at trying to get back on track but with none of them sticking. Then, after some huge holiday eating, visiting with friends, etc. I stepped on my dusty scale and saw some numbers I have not seen in YEARS. I gained back almost 30 pounds. I had been ignoring my extremely tight pants and how I was looking in the mirror - it's so easy to just not look. But there it was. I stepped off that scale so fast you would have thought it was hot coals.

And that was it. I'm back. I am finishing my second week of being truly on track. I am tweaking things here and there and trying some different things, but also looking back at my tracked food from 2017 to see what I was eating then when I was steadily losing weight.

I have a short term goal of losing 10-15 pounds before seeing my in-laws at the end of November for the first time in 2 years. As of today I am 9 pounds back down from that horrifying weight I saw. I know that several pounds of that was water weight, but it's really, really helped my mindset.

So - bad news, good news. With any luck I will be back in the 170s in 4 weeks. It's crunch time and I'm committed! emoticon
