Stuck in a rut? Stuck on a plateau? What are you holding on to that’s holding you back? When you find that things are not moving forward, or you're not moving forward there is a reason for it. It’s usually happening to see if you have the willingness, the courage, and the wherewithal to take a chance on something new and move forward.
Feeling secure, and in control, of our life is something that all of us have a real need to feel in our lives. It gives us a “sense” of assurance, which in turn gives us a sense of security. We feel we have a good sense of what to do next, and that decreases the possibilities for mistakes in our lives. It is a safeguard measure put into place by us to help guard against any unwanted, and undesirables circumstances that would be disruptive, or uncomfortable to us. Being in control serves us as humans and helps us feel more comfortable, at ease, and like we are on a steady course moving forward.
Conversely when we feel that things are spinning out of control, we feel very venerable, uncertain, and sometimes at a loss of what to do next - which leaves us feeling out of control, irritable, and depressed. If the situation(s) compound, we can end up feeling like we are in a free fall without a parachute in a feeling of absolute helplessness. Letting go is the having the courage to accept change in your life, and the courage to keep moving through it.
“Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.
We must be willing to let go “ ~Ekhart Tolle
Here are some tips from Deepak Chopra to help you learn to trust the universe, a.k.a. God.
Embrace Helplessness - This all sounds well and good, but it’s very difficult to the point of “finding the courage” to let go. You have to get yourself to the point of surrender. You’ll know you’re there when you realize you just have to give in because whatever you are facing is too big to take on alone. When you get here, ask, and allow - you are no longer helpless and alone. This is your point of empowerment because you are no longer “a victim.”
Tune Into Love - Deepak Chopra says, “Love is the energy that propels and moves the entire universe. In order to tap into love, it’s crucial to understand how love works. Love is grace. Love is helping. Love is caring and sharing. Love is disciplining when destructive behavior arises. Love is tolerance and understanding. It is so much more than emotion; and it is always there, if you tap into it.”
By approaching everything from the standpoint of love, you will naturally attract more of it into your life.
