Memory Floods

Thursday, November 14, 2019

I did stay home all day and I finished one of those baby quilts that has been a top for weeks and needed it's back and binding. But every time I sat down in front of the TV seems something would remind me of someone I've lost.

Even my the food I wanted to eat was my sister's favorite and I usually don't even think about it when I fix this but today was just that way. It's OK you can have days like this. Now I think I'll have to make BBQ'd ribs for my brother and chocolate brownies for my other sister. When she was sick with cancer sue used to call and say she was so hungry for brownies and then bake them and call back and say it wasn't the brownies she wanted she just ate the frosting. That is a pretty good memory of her last year.

Thank fulls
1. another baby quilt for the hospital is ready
2. memories are fine as long as you can mix the good ones in with the bad
3. What happened to Nov. the days are just flying by

I will go out to Block class tomorrow and I'll even take Buck along. it is supposed to be above freezing so he'll be fine in the car for the hour I'm at the fabric store. then I'm going to come home and attempt a Christmas tree wall hanging on the embroidery machine. And while that works I can sew on the wedding quilt.

You're so right - it's OK to have the sad memories, but it's good when we can also remember the wonderful, happy memories. Those happy memories are why we miss people!

Sounds like today was a mix of memories of loved ones gone, sometimes a day as such d=just happens, and yes it is fine to recall what loved ones enjoyed, happy times with them, and even days that aren't the best of memories as that is how life plays out.
It is nice that you have another baby quilt ready for the hospital, someones baby will stay warm in it this winter.
So I went for my X-ray of my finger today. My doctors nurse called late this afternoon to say they got the report of the x-rays and my pinky finger on my left hand is broken. So they are arranging an appointment for me with a hand surgeon.

Would enjoy seeing the quilts. You do such a nice job. Memories can be good but some can be difficult as well.
