She Believed She Could

Back in January I had an accident and injured my foot/ankle. That fall took six weeks to heal and caused me to break a streak I was particularly proud of. Up to that point I had accomplished 22 weeks of getting 100K steps a week. At the time it really bummed me out that all my hard work was to count for nothing. But was that true? After I held a brief ‘pity party’, I realized that there was nothing to stop me from beginning again, unless I stopped myself. So, after healing, I started again and I worked hard to reach that longevity goal again. Even in October during the terrible 10 days I had the flu, I marched in place to achieve the daily steps necessary to keep the streak alive.



This week marks the 30th consecutive week that I have achieved 100K steps since I resumed vying for this streak again; and I am, once again, proud of this accomplishment. But I am more proud that I did not let anything stand/get in the way of doing what I set out to do and that includes not letting ME get in the way.

There is a saying, “believe you can or believe you can’t, you will always be right.” Because I believe in the power of positivity, I choose to believe I CAN. It may not be fast, most of the time not easy, but believe it and you can achieve it. So when things get rough...



Remember, the only way you can fail is if you quit. Keep moving forward and spark on. I’ll be there on the sidelines rooting for you.
