Fell off keto wagon

I've gained 10 lbs in past month, due to holidays. Already 2 Christmas parties behind us. My #keto friends, who initially inspired me to try keto again 5 months ago, are struggling too. He lost 60# and she lost 55#. She has reached her goal and is adding carbs in her diet, eating chips and breads, etc. Making it difficult for her husband to stay on program. He has 60# more to lose. I would like to lose 50# more. My husband is not going to do keto, no matter what. He loves his taters, biscuits and gravy!!! He will eat what I cook but wants cookies and snack cakes in the house. I get grandsons off the bus and feed them supper and a snack after showers, before my daughter gets home to pick them up and put them to bed. They want junk food all the time because their 6'5" 350# father eats that all the time. The boys are overweight too. They are such picky eaters. Last 2 weeks we have compromised on peanut butter sandwiches and sliced apples (instead of chips). I'm not the most enthusiastic cook. I like throwing casseroles in the oven or something in the crockpot. Thank goodness for all the enthusiastic people who like cooking #keto and sharing their recipes!!! Cabbage and kielbasa tonight. Trying keto Salisbury steak with xanthum gum gravy (recipe on pinterest) with green beans and cauliflower mash tomorrow night. Bought a small 1/4 ham, Kentucky Legend yum, will crock it wrapped in aluminum foil for couple hours Wednesday night and that should get us through the week. Having keto friends over for supper tomorrow night. They still work full time. I retired last year. DH retired 3 years ago. If anyone actually reads my blog - thank you. I find it helpful to document my thoughts and struggles. Any advice is welcome. Been watching YouTube keto videos for inspiration and meal ideas. Pinterest always great for meal ideas.     I know what you are going through. My husband lives on pop & potatoes chips. He doesn't get it and he isn't going to change. Through the years it has gotten easier for me. Just remember how much better you feel and let that be your inspiration. I know my arthritis is so much better when I'm not eating all those carbs.

    Well I read you blog. I often read the blogs of people who are members of "Team Keto!"

    I have to say, do this for yourself, and frankly perhaps by yourself. Just because others don't follow your lead doesn't mean you are leading in the wrong direction. The 10 pound gain in the last month is not 10 pounds of body fat at 3500 excess calories per pound. No it is about 5 or 6 pounds of glycogen, which is mostly water, an then perhaps another 4 pounds of body fat, .... so not so bad really.

    Yes you want others to be healthy with you, like your husband, but even those near and dear to us might not change. He might "love" his taters, biscuits ... etc. but since he is overweight is that really "love", or is it an addiction? I always view carbs as having a massive pull on hunger and blood sugar, and once started, it is very hard to break that cycle.

    So, do it for yourself.
