Rainy Days Are For Drawing

Saturday, December 14, 2019

Couldn't go anywhere as it was storming non-stop today. So I pottered around doing some mending and cooking. I chose to focus today's cooking journaling on the spicy Hokkien Noodles and Duck a la Orange as these are dishes my grandmunchkin would like. And this booklet is for him after all. I am wondering if I should invest in some markers but I really want to impart to him the beauty in using what you already have rather than acquiring without thought. So I think my drawing suffices without more fancy equipment. I like the idea that I am using colour pencils that even he can use. As it is, he already shows some talent in art. He just needs to learn patience and a more open mind. Sigh. I probably will not live to see if he will turn out to be an artist or a chef. But whatever he chooses to be, I hope it brings him joy. That's all a grandma can wish for, no?
