2019 The Last Few Months

Wednesday, December 18, 2019

I have been very negligent in checking in and keeping in touch and I apologize. Life has not been all I could hope for. Most know about my bout with congestive heart failure in July and then lots of follow up for lymph edema in both my legs. So I am doing well medically on the prescribed meds (altho' I hate having to take them) and I must wear compression socks now from sunup to sundown and I am getting used to them.

Then the unthinkable happened on 7 December - my daughter was the victim of domestic violence. Thanking God that physically she was just bruised but emotionally she is completely broken. Her husband has been verbally abusive in the past year but had never gotten physical. Altho' she is the victim she has now got to reinvent her entire life. We were lucky, again all in God's hands, to find her a new apr on the 12th of Dec but she lives daily fearing someone will follow her and tell him. There is a protective order but .... He was jailed but his drug buddy's woman bonded him out on the 11th of Dec. His arraignment is not until in January. Texas is a community property state and she is fearful what he will ask for as she is going to file paperwork for an uncontested divorce. This is her childhood sweetheart and she never thought something like this would happen.

On 16 December, my last living uncle on my mother's side of the family passed at 89 years old. He and his wife have been married 67 years. It is such a sad event and because of costs, etc., I will be unable to travel to MO for the funeral and I feel terrible.

I will overcome and be back soon.
