As 2019 comes to a close I look back at my year and I believe it was a successful one. I did not reach my end of the year goal to reach maintenance. I tried. I think I gave it my best but it was not to be.

However I did have some milestones:

All of my health numbers (the important numbers in my book) remained stable. I am down to 2 prescriptions (thyroid & autoimmune issues). However, no blood pressure, diabetes, or cholesterol medication is now needed to control those numbers. My healthier lifestyle is taking care of that. emoticon

Even with my January 2019 accident and my October bout with the flu and the disruption in my regular routine they caused, I managed to lose something in 2019. Not a lot, but I lost. emoticon emoticon

I also managed not to gain weight during the holiday “eating” season (October-December). No small feat considering that I was away from home for Thanksgiving and not in charge of my meals, this was a big one for me. emoticon

Overall with loss/gains throughout the year I am down 10 pounds for 2019. I have shed and kept off 85 pounds over the course of my journey. emoticon

I start the new year, again, with the goal of reaching maintenance. I have 10 pounds to go and God willing, and my own hard work in 2020, I will see that accomplished.
