TEAM DAILY FOR 12/31: Planning Day #5: This is a tough one! What brings you Joy? How can you make 2020 the most joyful ever? Remember to not zero in on what you THINK SHOULD BRING YOU JOY, and focus on what actually DOES!

This has been something I've mulled over most of this year, and still not quite cracked. My days might be productive and useful, but even the things I do for "fun" have often not been joyful.

So, I'm going to try to use this blog post to remind myself of the things that really do make me joyful.

~ Watching my birds and squirrels at the feeder.
~ Knocking difficult tasks off my to-do list.
~ My shiny kitchen sink (yup, FlyLady is right).
~ Playing WoW with my family.
~ Dancing, moving, sprinting.

And some things that DON'T bring me joy.

~ Endlessly multi-tasking. This year's mantra is "Linear".
~ Playing WoW because I think I should. (Yeah, I know. Don't judge me.)

The mantra has been helpful, and I repeat it less often than I thought I would. Maybe it's just because there are fewer pots on the burners right now, so I'm not constantly pulling myself in multiple directions. I still feel stress when paperwork piles up or calendar events loom. (Lots of political things this year in particular.)

My favorite game is still pretty "meh", and I had a meltdown over WoW Classic a couple of weeks back, but I've been playing with my sister quite a bit this last week on one of my alts, and it's been a lot of fun.

I'm still working on the late night entertainment thing, but I have actually reminded myself to go read a few times, which has actually been helpful. Still not great, since my reading selection was less satisfying than I anticipated (re-reading some YA fiction; the first couple of books were still a little rough around the edges. I think the series gets better).

Organized and tidy brings me joy. Finishing something that's been hanging around a while does also. Got a lot of those possibilities.

I think I'll start by organizing my files and making of list of those things that have been hanging around.
