So I had my second meeting with the dietitian and psychologist last Thursday. They both feel that it should be no problem to clear me for surgery after my third appointment on the 30th. It's becoming more real, and a little scary. I have had multiple surgeries, and been under general anesthesia before, but there is always a risk. I will be hospitalized over night. Other than childbirth, I have only stayed in the hospital 1 other time. That was such a *pleasant* experience, not looking forward to that part.

I have decided that once I get my surgery date, I am going out for one last indulgent restaurant meal. I will be honest about it, and I will put everything down on my food log, but I will most likely be spending my birthday in the very early stages of recovery and still on a pureed diet. I am going to The Cheesecake Factory with my family. I will get something off their lighter menu and portion half to take home. I am going to have a slice of cheesecake, and savor and enjoy it. Since I am having RNY bypass, I know that too much sugar and fat will make me very ill, post-op. I can probably find a recipe for a low-fat, sugar free version, but it won't be the same.

I hope everyone is having a great day.
