When I’ve Had a Rough Time On My Journey
Monday, February 10, 2020
One of you requested that I write about a week where I was really off track. Literally, I have had months! I get up in the morning and eat well through the day with all good intentions and lose it by night, only to eat myself into blissful oblivion. I swear to myself that’s the last time, but it never ever is... ever. Not even now. I just eat healthier foods and less of them when I go off track.
I don’t have the capacity to eat what I used to, thank God! But as you lose weight, it takes less calories to gain weight. Great news, huh. Yes, I was thrilled😭. So not!
The thing I’ve discovered that helped me the most on those bad weeks, is to start taking ANY positive steps to get back on track. Drink water, eat veggies, exercise... Healthy Habits are the key to the restart. You don’t have to jump in full throttle because obviously, you are emotional and working something out.
A healthy habit can also be talking to someone, maybe a family member or friend, about what’s going on, blogging, hiring someone to talk to like a coach, psychologist, or social worker depending on the issue. Sometimes, I have even gone to my doctor for help. Yes, I have had my own coaches, psychologists, psychiatrists etc to help me learn to cope. It really can help.
The journey does get rocky, but it’s also very beautiful if you keep going. Journey on, fellow travelers! Don’t give up. Ever.
