The Loss Of a Child

Monday, February 17, 2020

First of all, Thank you, everyone, who replied to my request in the feed for prayers for my family. I have to remember Our Heavenly Father answers our prayers, just not always the way we want.

Arriahna Roselani Ball was born August 13, 2009, in Logan Utah, to Scott and Aimee Ball. She was the youngest of their six children, and after her birth, my sister said "I now have the family heavenly father meant for me."

There was something special about this little girl. She had an inner light that shone bright. She often thought of others, and was known to give her things away to people who she felt needed them more than she did. She loved her family, and was proud to be the Flower Girl for her older brother in 2015 and a junior brides' maid for her older sister this past May. She was a wonderful Auntie to her two nephews and one niece, affectionately called, "Ri-ri". She loved animals, especially her dog, Coco. She was looking forward to a summer vacation spent with her Grandma, Papa, and Mimi, in her mom's beautiful home state of Hawaii.

Fate stepped in, and she was called home on February 16, 2020. I don't know what God's plan was/is, but I am trying to hold tight to the honest belief that she is with him, and all of those who went before.

I am struggling with the frustration of not being able to go to my sister and her family, to be able to hold tight to them and cry together.

I am grateful to all the people who have reached out with words of comfort, both in real life and on line. I want to say "Thank you" in advance, if you are taking the time to read this.

Aloha kākou, Marni.
