I DID IT! I reached my doctor approved, chosen goal weight in mid-March . Now I am ready to begin maintaining this hard fought for success.
Based on my current weight the BMI chart would say/does say that I am still in the overweight category because my BMI is 26.1. That’s okay. Here is what that chart doesn’t say:
I am 66
I am 5’4” tall and I weigh 150 pounds (well when I reached goal this was my weight)
I have lost 93 pounds
I have an AC1 of 5.6 maintained without medication
My last glucose reading was 109 maintained without medication
My last BP reading was 118/71 maintained without medication
My Cholesterol is 152 total: HDL 44, LDL 94, triglycerides 73; maintained without medication
My white blood cell count is up, an indication of reduced inflammation
My autoimmune issues are in stasis
I do a minimum of 30 minutes of intentional exercise every day; usually more, never less
I do strength training 2-3 times a week
I walk 2-4 miles on a daily basis
I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night (most nights anyway)
Remember, a chart can give you the baseline to shoot for but you must listen to your body and how you are feeling and improving your individual situation throughout your journey when you are setting your goal.
I am happy with my results. While I accept that a chart says I am still “overweight ,” I know better. I am exactly where I need to be.
Keep on Sparking!
