Hi everyone.

A month ago, I found out I had a miscarriage and that was pretty hard. I let myself be sad and down for a little while, and I definitely ate my feelings. I got back up to 270. But then I decided the best thing I could do for myself was try to get healthier so if and when I get pregnant again, I'm at a healthier weight.

I've been trying to get back on track since then and yesterday weighed in at 262.4 so at least I'm moving back in the right direction.

I also joined a running challenge that makes me run 4 times a week at a pace of at least 16:00/mile. I've been consistently staying in the 14:00-14:30/mile range so I'm happy with that since I'm doing Couch to 5k. It's an app on my phone that tells me when to walk and when to run. Week one is 60 seconds running, 90 seconds walking. Week two is 90 seconds running 2 minutes walking.

At my fastest I could break an 8 minute mile, but consistent pace was closer to 10-11 minute miles. I forgot how good running makes me feel. Right now its still more jogging, and struggling to breathe, but I know how much easier it will get with every run. I just love listening to music and getting moving.

I was also able to get out and golf twice last week. Our Governor in the state of Ohio has allowed golf courses to remain open since many people use it for exercise, and man am I glad he did. There are a lot of social distancing rules in place, like they have pool noodles around the flags so your ball just bounces back and no one is touching the flag sticks. They also only allow one person per cart, but I usually play alone so that's no different for me. Golf is a really easy sport to socially distance yourself from others.

Sorry this is just rambling. But I wanted to check in because I'm doing okay today on Mother's Day. We had planned to announce the baby today so I was afraid I'd be really down today, but I'm alright. I'm happy to be more in control of my food and exercise than I have been in previous months. If I can keep up the 8-10 pound loss per month that will be great!

Happy Mother's Day to ALL the mothers. Mothers with children here on Earth and those with angel babies. I'm thinking of all of you today.

Both days that I played I burned over 2000 calories during my rounds. I couldn't believe it!
